It’s damn sexy!
To be perfectly honest, this is the sexiest male sex toy I’ve seen in a while. The way it sits on the base. The gentle curve of the shaft. Its upright posture is inviting, yet provoking. When it’s charging on the base by my bed, it whispers to me…it says “let’s get it on…”
Charging is a breeze
I just leave mine sitting on my night stand. When it’s time to charge it, simply line up the metal contacts on the bottom of the toy to the ones on the base. Once it gets close, it kinda “snaps” gently into place. Piece of cake.
Charge time – About 2 hours from nearly dead to full.
Run time – I get about 2 hours of balls out, high setting use on a full charge. Some sources mention 3 hours, but I personally haven’t seen that. Maybe if you run it on light or medium vibration modes, it’s possible.
I also like the included USB cord. It could be a little longer, but it’s fine.
I really like having a “base” for a charger, rather than a plug in. As much as I enjoy LELO toys, in order to power them up, you have to pull back a rubber flap or plug to expose the port. With Rosa, it’s a matter of “set and forget.”
The silicone is nice
A very high quality grade of silicone covers most of the toy, except for the plastic base. It’s on par with LELO and Tantus silicone. No imperfections. Collects very little lint. Feels REALLY nice. Good stuff.
The controls
This is one thing that’s not so great about this toy. The controls can be tricky when it’s inserted. I practiced using them before sticking it in my ass, so that helped immensely. They’re just not really easy to feel with the fingers, at least mine. As you can see in the picture below, the buttons aren’t really raised that much.
The DUAL vibrators. Really awesome!
This is one of Rosa Rouge’s strongest assets: the dual vibrators with independent running modes. These vibes are outstanding, both in strength and the sheer number of combinations and intensities possible. Ok, I saved the best for last. This is the crown jewel of the Rosa Rouge. It’s called a thermal regulation system, which is really just a fancy name for their internal heating element.
I’m a total nerd when it comes to toys and gadgets, and I just HAD to find out how warm this baby would get. So, I pulled out my handy dandy laser surface temp gun to see for myself. As you can see in the pic below, the temp was 90.5 degrees fahrenheit (that’s 32.5 C for non US readers). Nice and toasty! It feels awesome!
Now, the specs on the manufacturer site claim 40 – 42 C of heat. I could only get 32.5. It is possible that the cool room, and the fact that it wasn’t contained (like inside a rectum) could cause the temperature to be lower than rated. Either way, this warmth is a welcome addition.
Final thoughts
Overall, this is a damn fine sex toy. Great for him AND her! There are some pros and cons, but mostly pros. It truly is a powerful vibrator, with a vast array of modes. The fact that it’s heated makes it an outstanding device.
You may be wondering: “is the extra money for the heater worth it?” In my opinion, absolutely.
Here’s the thing: if I’m buying a luxury sex toy, I expect it to last for YEARS. Divide that extra money into the years of use, and the price difference becomes immaterial. And in the case of the Rouge, choosing the upgrade is a no-brainer.
Here’s what I really like about it: It’s long! At around 6 inches, this toy definitely provides that extra reach that some guys (and gals) crave. For me personally, it makes it a bit easier to get off. I’m not certain if prostate location varies by how tall or short a guy is, but in my case, the extra reach does help. I’m about 6’3″ tall for reference.
I also like the contoured shaft. The bulbous tip that quickly narrows down at the middle helps keep the vibrator in place while I’m using it. No problems with it wanting to pop back out, even when contracting my muscles down there. This is a huge bonus.
Here’s what I didn’t like: That long shaft is quite flexible. It’s near impossible to apply leverage on the base of the toy to increase pressure against the prostate. This is fine if the user is content with the killer vibrations (which I am). It’s not optimal for someone that requires more firm pressure against the gland. If this is the case I wouldn’t recommend this toy.
Also, the control buttons are difficult to manipulate when going solo. Once it’s in position, feeling around down there isn’t much help. The user really needs to know the positions of the controls BEFORE getting started. In a nutshell, not much tactile feel on these buttons.
So is this prostate toy worth it! Abso-fucking-lutetly! It’s currently my go-to device. And will likely remain so until something else comes along that’s even better.
Rosa Rouge vs. LELO Hugo
The Hugo by Lelo is the most similar toy in my collection, so I feel it’s worthy of a comparison.
Regarding the vibrations, there is no clear winner. The vibes seem equally intense. The only difference is the unique modes and patterns for each.
Overall, each has their distinct differences and advantages. Here are a few of the most important ones.
Advantages for Rosa
- The additional length is very nice
- The heated core is a very nice bonus that Hugo doesn’t have

Advantages for Hugo
- Wireless remote…need I say more?
- A shaft that doesn’t flex much. Sometimes it’s necessary to apply some firm pressure, to get the tip of the toy rubbing the prostate as hard as possible. Can’t really do that with the flexible shaft of Rosa.
- It costs less
