Visa vs Mastercard at online casinos - does it matter?

Probably overthinking this but does it actually matter whether you use a Visa or a Mastercard at an online casino? Or are they basically the same thing?

Functionally near identical, acceptance is almost always both-or-neither. The bigger variable isn't the card brand, it's your bank: NZ banks will sometimes decline a gambling transaction regardless of whether it's Visa or Mastercard. And use a DEBIT card over a credit card, plenty of places (and good sense) steer you away from gambling on credit.

Yeah this was me, ASB knocked back my Visa, would've done the same to a Mastercard. Just used crypto in the end and it went straight through. Card brand was never the issue.

Same difference. The bank's the gatekeeper, not the logo on the card.
