What are the best senior dating sites?

So according to recent polls, 49% of women and 21% of men over the age of 65 say they're single.
About 57% of people over 50 are actively looking for a relationship.

So what do you think are the senior dating sites, and not just for elder people but for YOUR family? Which site would you send your grandpa or grandma too?

And don't say Ashley Madison.

I have used a few senior dating sites, but I can't really speak for which ones are the best, or which are worth your money. That's up to every individual person and how much they like the profiles they find.

But here are a few I have tried before.

1. Silver Singles - Pretty good site, a bit simple and old fashioned, almost no free preview, but good selection of smart, educated over 55 adults.

2. FriendFinder - Friendfinder (also called Adult Friend Finder) has a lot of over 50 profiles. Granted this is more of a swingers dating site, because of a more liberal sensibility. But still worth searching.

3. Our Time - Very similar to Silver Singles, maybe a little bit more modern. Not much of a free preview in my opinion.

4. eHarmony - Really smart site, though it's not relegated to just over 50. It's a site that matches people according to personality, values, morals, and beliefs. Probably the most serious matchmaking sites.

5. Zoosk - Zoosk has significant numbers of over-45 members. What people like about it is the video friendly streaming abilities. Just meet people face to face instantly like speed dating.

6. Match - Older demographics here, lots of filters which is good, good number of members, not the most exciting site in the world, but pushes meeting in person.

7. Christian Mingle - Has plenty of Christian over 50 singles.

8. Elite Singles - Lots of over 50 members but they tend to be college educated, successful in business, sometimes CEOs or workaholic entrepreneurs. Kind of a crapshoot here.

9. Senior Match - Longstanding senior site with almost 2 million people and very good customer service.

10. Date My Age - Doesn't strike me as a senior dating site, but does have accommodations for many people over 50.

11. Senior People Meet - This one seems different and actually talks about having someone meet with you and discuss your wants, needs and dealbreakers. This is a matchmaking company not just dating app.

12. Talkify - Same deal as Senior People Meet, but the Rolls Royce version, with custom made dates and constant coaching from a relationship specialist.

There probably are more, but these were the ones I've either tried or looked into.

Huh interesting list. I prefer to date younger women, but I suppose I wouldn't mind dating someone my age who was smart, attractive, and knew their brands of liquor.

From what I've heard Talkify is very expensive though.

Yeah it's like 1000s of dollars for a matchmaking service.

I mean, some people over 60 can afford that and more power to them if they can.

But your average person might be better off using eHarmony or something.

Yeah. eHarmony is seen as expensive, but compare that to literally $10,000 for a custom date, and coaching, and 20, 30 a month is not too bad.

Thing is, eHarmony has a long term contract, like 12 months or even 24 months.

But the problem is the site works pretty well. People end up dating, living together, getting married, and forget all about the company.

But they want their money, so that's why they hold you to longer contracts.

Still, I like the compatibility or chemistry meter, the custom matches, the video chat, the whole thing. It is the affordable and somewhat more simple version of Tawkify.

honest question - not trying to be a millennial douche.

Do old people use Tinder and try to get laid like everyone else?

LOL Well yes I've heard they do. I've even heard that boomers have more sex than other demographics, if you believe all those surveys and polls.

A lot of boomers are divorced, widowed, and lonely. So it's expected.

I personally haven't dabbled that much. I'm more of a bar person or an old friend comes to town and wants to go out type of guy.

Yeah I've heard that too! Well good for them I hope when I'm retired I still get around. Sex improves your health, pretty sure I read that somewhere.

But seriously, are there any 55+ on Tinder, Bumble, Hinge?

There are single people over 50 on Tinder, yes.

The women have no problem getting dates.

The men...mmm...unless they're gay, do have a little bit of an uphill climb.

This is probably why senior dating sites still have a niche that's successful.

Not only are guys more comfortable there, but older women who usually want real relationships and not flings with horny young goats, might enjoy a more mature site - not just in age but in sensibility.
