Anal stretching

Why anal stretching? There is a whole new world of pleasure to explore when you enter the realm of anal play. You can keep things simple, or you can – how shall we say? – go a little deeper.

Anal play can be a playground of experimentation. Regardless of whether you have a prostate, the anus is incredibly sensitive to all sorts of different touch and sensation. You can approach anal play as an adventure in its own right, or you can combine it with other activities to enhance the experience.

Whether you have inserted a butt plug, a dildo, a penis, fingers or something else, by engaging in anal stretching, you can train your anal sphincter to take more. If you have dreamt of fisting, stretching is your first step on the road.

Stretching is training. It is training your sphincter muscle. Like any muscle, it can be made stronger, and it can be made more flexible. For anal stretching, it is flexibility we are trying to achieve.

It will make any sort of anal play or anal sexual easier, more enjoyable, and more controlled. And with control comes the potential for greater experimentation

Think about your leg muscles. By doing squats and other exercises you can help to build muscle and make them powerful. But this is completely different to being flexible. If you want to be able to touch your toes, you need to build up flexibility in your muscles by stretching them. It is not difficult, but it takes time and effort. It is the same with anal muscles.

How do you go about stretching? There are lots of techniques and tools that you can use including butt plugs and dilators. But it is also possible to use nothing more than your fingers, at least in the early stages.

If you are able to comfortably insert, say, your pinkie finger, slowly build up to your middle finger or index finger. When this feels comfortable, you can try with two fingers, then three, then four. But this is not something you will achieve in a day – stretching takes time and patience, but the rewards make it worthwhile.

You can also use butt plugs of increasing size; start small, and build up over the course of a few weeks. In a similar vein are dilators which are smooth. You can buy them in sets of 5, 6 or 7, starting with small going up to large. If you prefer something more realistic, there are endless dildos – or anal beads or even vibrators – to choose from. Start small and gradually increase the size over time.

Whatever you use for stretching, it is a good idea to get into some sort of routine. You will have to work at things around your schedule, but morning and evening each day is a good way to keep things regular. Aim to spend about 10 to 15 minutes to allow your anus to stretch. You don’t need to do this daily, but 4 or 5 times a week is recommended.

If you want to maintain the results of your work, you will need to keep at it. If you stop for too long – a week or two – your sphincter will gradually shrink back to its original size. Use it or lose it!

As well as stretching the diameter of your sphincter, you can also experiment with depth. If you’ve fantasized about your partner being buried in your ass elbow deep, this is something you can work towards – but slowly.

With any sort of anal play or training, it is important to take care. This is an incredibly sensitive part of the body, and also one that can be easily damaged. Sharp nail can snag skin and causing bleeding. Trying to insert something too large before you have practiced stretching for long enough, before you have built up sufficient flexibility, is a recipe for disaster. It is easy to tear skin or even a muscle, so take things slowly.

And the most important thing to remember is lube. You simply cannot have too much lube. Use it as if it were going out of fashion.

And relax.

Being relaxed will make things so much easier – both when stretching and when engaging in anal play. Tension is not your friend.

Anal stretching is something you can do on your own, but it need not be a solo activity – with a partner involved “training” becomes fun.
