9 Best Prostate Supplements Reviewed

If you were born right around the time Ronald Reagan was elected president and Queen recorded their immortal hit “Another One Bites the Dust,” it may be high time for you to start thinking about prostate health.

A very common health issue among men is an enlarged prostate, also called BPH. Younger guys generally have no problems with this. But once we hit 50, nearly half of us will exhibit signs of this condition.

If you have issues and prefer to stay away from prescription meds, these best prostate supplements might be right up your alley.

9 Best Prostate Supplements to Keep You Flowing Smoothly

Arranged by price from low to high, each has its own set of benefits.

Here’s what you’ll find:

  1. The most cost effective option
  2. A brand name option
  3. A product that’s been on the market for decades
  4. Two powdered options
  5. A well packaged option
  6. A gel capsule option
  7. An easy gel-a-day option
  8. A doctor recommended option

HAVASU Saw Palmetto

The Most Cost-Effective Option

There can be a lot of shady offerings when it comes to herbal supplements, but if you’re looking for something third-party tested and made in a factory approved by the FDA, the Saw Palmetto supplement by Havasu is for you.

The extra-strength formula places 500 mg of extract and powder into every capsule for a powerful punch of prostate health (please note: not a punch to your prostate).

As an added side effect, the DHT compound within has also been linked to treating male-pattern baldness on your other head.

GNC Prostate Formula

Famous Brand-Name Option

Some people just need the comfort of a brand name when it comes to shopping, and if that’s true for you, GNC also makes a prostate supplement.

Saw palmetto, beta-sitosterol, and lycopene engage in a delicate ballet to promote healthy urinary flow and normal reproductive functionalty—that means improved comfort while pissin’ and sexin’, if we may bring this highbrow show down to the vulgar masses.

GNC also offers different sized bottles, so you can buy the product in bulk and save money.

Nature’s Life Prostate Formula

A long standing product

Maybe in your younger days you lived the thug life, but a little age, wisdom (and perhaps prison time) have led you to nature’s life. Even if that urban narrative of feel-good transformation doesn’t apply to you, you can still enjoy the feel-good power of Nature’s Life Prostate Formula.

In addition to the regular old boring blend of saw palmetto, pumpkin seed, and pygeum bark (we think it grows on the Klingon homeworld), the Nature’s Life formula also leverages the power of amino acids to promote prostate health.

They’ve been in business since 1970, standing behind their nutrient rich, vegetarian formula for almost half a century.

Micro Ingredients Organic Pine Pollen Concentrate

A Powdered Option

Have you ever gone hiking through some mountainous woods and stopped to take a breath of fresh air? We bet you didn’t ever think that the scent of pine on the breeze could be linked to improved prostate health.

Micro Ingredients Organic Pine Pollen Concentrate is a vegan-friendly superfood that makes a great addition to smoothies and/or shakes. It will enhance your energy, boost your immune system, improve your cardiovascular health, increase libido, and improve your prostate-related health.

That’s lot of good side effects from some pine-cone pollen, and a whole lot easier than eating a pine cone, or attempting to insert it up your rectum (although that’s probably easier than a pineapple).

If you feel so inclined to pair it with some other products by the same company, they also sell Long Jack Libido Boosting Extract and Horny Goat Weed…we assume you can figure out what those products are for.

Samsara Prostate & Hair Formula

Another Powdered Option

Some people can’t even handle gel capsules, let alone pills. If you prefer to put your supplements into your food or drink, the Samsara Prostate & Hair Herbal Extract Formula could be just the secret spice to liven up your diet.

Don’t worry about the cleanliness of this bagged powder, because it’s been tested for mold, yeast, bacteria, metals, chemicals, and pesticides…so what you’re getting is all natural pygeum, saw palmetto, and nettle.

Fight the tide of male pattern baldness and enlarging prostate problems with this scoopable, mixable compound, and improve your overall hormonal health. You can also buy the product in larger, bulkier sizes to save money.

Intenza Prostate Power Flow

Well-Packaged Option

It’s always nice when the packaging of a product is top notch, but even better when the quality of what’s inside matches the level of chic.

Intenza Prostate Power Flow comes in a well-designed charcoal box that contains the elixir for a better night’s sleep. It’s been a market leader in New Zealand for over two decades, but it’s also approved by the FDA.

Saw Palmetto calms the pain; lycopene limits prostate enlargement; selenium provides antioxidants; zinc reduces swelling and raises testosterone levels. Together these four compounds and elements unite like Power Rangers out to save the universe from prostate enlargement.

Gaia Herbs Liquid Capsules

A Gel-capsule Option

If you hate dealing with powders or pills and prefer the smooth entry of gel capsules, Gaia Herbs prostate health supplement may be just the dose of velvety-smooth chocolate whiskey you’re looking for.

With the mix of herbs in every capsule—pomegranate, green tea, sage, nettle, and saw palmetto—you’d think it was something concocted by the blendmaster at a tea company.

The organic, all-natural formula comes in a 40-day supply, and is great for those who want to avoid gluten, soy, animal products, and peanuts.

TruNature Prostate Plus Health Complex

Easy Gel-a-day Option

A softgel a day keeps the prostate at bay, the old adage goes.

You’re going to feel healthier just by looking at the label of TruNature Prostate Health Complex: it’s a bountiful harvest of pumpkins, palmettos, and cranberry seeds…sort of like the first Thanksgiving, minus the turkey.

Apparently cranberries can promote pee-related health, so you could down a whole bottle of cranberry juice every day (perhaps with vodka), or you could just pop one tiny softgel capsule for an even greater effect.

URINOZINC Prostate Plus Health Formula

Doctor Recommended Option

This particular brand is recommended by doctors, and if you don’t believe us, just check out the seal of Hermes on the box (you know, the staff with the entwined snakes that represents medicine, for whatever reason).

“Urologist approved” is written around the seal, and they’re the doctors who check out your dickhole—so they have some authority in the mater.

The URIZONIC compound of zinc and saw palmetto promotes improved urine flow, frequency, and bladder emptying, helping you get a better night’s sleep.

What the heck is my prostate, anyway?

Your prostate, in case you didn’t know, is a small, walnut-sized gland inside your body that secretes a protective fluid around your sperm. During ejaculation, the prostate will release this fluid into the urethra—where it meets up with the sperm—and the whole ensemble is released as semen.

If you’d like a road map that can tell you how to find the prostate, it’s positioned between your bladder, your penis, and your rectum—prime real estate, you might say. The urethra runs through the prostate, just like a freeway cutting through downtown.

When you were younger, it’s most likely that you didn’t have any problems with your prostate.

But as men age, bodies just don’t function like the way they used to. One of the problems they experience may be BPH, or benign prostatic hyperplasia.

In plain english, that means an enlarged prostate.

Potential problems from prostate enlargement

Unfortunately, the factory that makes bodies only has a final return policy, with no refund. They don’t really offer exchanges…although if you’re a vampire or poltergeist, we assume you could always take over someone else’s body who isn’t having prostate problems…but we digress.

If this prostate enlargement is benign (meaning, harmless), you may experience problems like a lack of libido. Or, you may have a weakened urine stream.

So what, you may say to yourself. I’m a 65 year old man, and I don’t need to blow apart chunks of poop in the toilet with a blast from my firehose.

All well and good, but a weakened urine stream also means you’ll have to take more bathroom trips. You can pretty much cross long road trips off your bucket list…unless your wife doesn’t mind frequent bathroom stops, or holding a bottle between your legs while you keep your hands on the wheel (we’re making it to Denver by 6:00 PM, on the DOT, damnit).

Some men with enlarged prostates report trouble sleeping at night, because they have to urinate so frequently. It may be awhile since you experienced long bouts of sleeplessness (for instance, when you have young children), but just remember that when new recruits enter the Marine Corps, part of their survival training includes severe sleep deprivation…and you probably aren’t training to invade foreign shores at this point in your life.

So what can I do?

These problems are some of the more benign side effects of having an enlarged prostate. It’s good to check this all out with a doctor, in case your prostate problem is something else, like prostatitis (not the name of a Roman philosopher, but rather an infected prostate), or even the dreaded c-word.

But if your prostate is truly just getting to big for its britches with no malignant effects, you’re experiencing what 50% of men over the age of 50 experience.

There are different ways of dealing with the problem…yearly checkups, reducing liquid intake before bed, or having a Chinese wizard stick needles into your back. But if you’re looking for something more manageable on a daily basis, that doesn’t involve invasive surgery or lifestyle changes, you may want to consider taking supplements.

Didn’t see any products above that interested you? See pretty much every supplement Amazon has to offer, here.

Can natural prostate supplements cure BPH?

No, probably not. But they can make day to day life much easier and less stressful
